PEDACITO DE CARNE
PEDACITO DE CARNE
Created in partnership with the National Alliance of Latino Independent Filmmakers and Netflix, Pedacito De Carne is a story about a millennial caregiver, Sandra, who is struggling to balance growing into her own life and caring for her family as she takes care of her mother, Antonia, with Frontal Temporal Dementia. As Sandra navigates the heart warming and heart breaking moments of caregiving, she continually moves through what Rose’s design approaches as “spaces or defeat” and “spaces of hope”. Spaces of defeat articulate the harshness of Sandra’s current reality marked by cold colors / light and rough textures. Spaces of hope articulate optimism for the future, connection, and moments of shared love marked by vibrant colors, warm light, and cozy textures.
Pedacito De Carne is an official selection of the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival and screened at the 2023 FTD Conference in Saint Louis
